(1) There is hereby formed a Salary Commission for Elected Officials, which shall have five members, appointed by the Mayor, and confirmed by the City Council. All members shall be qualified electors of the City and must have resided within City limits for a minimum of six continuous months prior to an appointment to the Salary Commission and shall maintain such qualifications for the duration of their appointed term. These members serve independently of the City of Pullman government and elected officials.

(2) No member may be appointed to serve on the Salary Commission more than twice consecutively.

(3) Members may be removed during their terms for cause of incapacity, incompetence, neglect of duty, or malfeasance in office or for a disqualifying change of residence.

(4) No officer, official, or employee of the City or any of their immediate family members may serve as a member of the Salary Commission. For purposes of this section, “immediate family member” means the parents or step-parents, spouse, siblings or step-siblings, children or step-children, or any dependent relatives of an officer, official, or employee of the city, whether or not living in the household of the officer, official, or employee.

(5) Members of the Salary Commission serve without compensation. (Ord. 22-18 §1, 2022).
