The following regulations and procedures are in place for the city to minimize the undesirable impacts that could be associated with geologically hazardous areas:

(1) IBC Appendix J: Grading.

(2) Landslide Hazard Areas. IBC Chapter 18: Soils and Foundations.

IBC Appendix J: Grading.

City of Pullman Design Guidelines for Typical Residential Footings on Poor Soils.

(3) Seismic Hazard Areas. IBC Chapter 16, Section 1613 : Earthquake Loads .

(4) Mine Hazard Areas. Chapter 17.125 Pullman City Code: Conditional Use Permit.

Chapter 78.44 RCW – Surface Mining.

(5) Volcanic Hazard Areas. None necessary.

In any geologically hazardous area, new development and creation of new lots that would cause foreseeable risk from geological conditions after application of the provisions referenced in this Section during the life of the development is prohibited.
