(1) A boundary line adjustment does not become effective until documents required for recording have been filed for record with the Whitman County Auditor. At a minimum, said documents required for recording shall include the survey map or other accepted drawing of the proposed boundary line adjustment and pertinent conveyance documents.

(2) All documents required for recording shall contain the following statement:

The above-described property will be combined or aggregated with contiguous property owned by the grantee for the sole purpose of adjusting the boundary line between parcels and the adjusted portion is not to be sold or transferred as a separate parcel by the grantee or his/her/its heirs, successors, or assigns.

This boundary line adjustment is hereby approved.

(3) Prior to recording any boundary line adjustment documents with the Whitman County Auditor, said documents shall be submitted to the department of public works for review and approval of the form. Once the director of public works approves the form of said documents, the director of public works or his/her designated representative shall so inform the applicant, and the applicant shall record said documents with the Whitman County Auditor. If said documents are not recorded with the Whitman County Auditor within 180 days of the date the director of public works provided written notice of approval under Subsection 13.95.060(3), the city’s approval of the proposed boundary line adjustment shall automatically become invalid.

(4) One copy of each recorded document shall be returned to the city by the applicant to be held on file with the department of public works for its records and map updates. (Ord. 02-10 §2, 2002).
