Except as provided in Section 9.10.020, no person or entity residing in the city shall keep a miniature pig within the city without having a valid miniature pig license. Persons moving to the city with a miniature pig shall license the miniature pig within 30 days of taking up residence in the city whether permanent or temporary. Proof that the miniature pig has been spayed or neutered is required of miniature pigs older than six (6) months of age to obtain a license. The tusks of any miniature pig kept, or harbored in the city limits of Pullman must be trimmed and maintained in a manner that no tusk appears outside of the mouth of the pig when the mouth is closed. Miniature pig licenses are not transferable. A new license is required of any keeper within 30 days of acquiring the miniature pig. The license issued to the owner shall be a durable tag stamped with an identifying number, the year of issuance, and the word “Pullman”. A person immediately responsible for a miniature pig who takes the miniature pig off the premises of the owner must have in their possession the miniature pig license at all times when off the premises of the owner. The police department shall maintain a record of all miniature pig license tags. This section shall not apply to miniature pigs brought into the city for less than thirty days. (Ord. 14-13 §4, 2014).
