Every person who fires or discharges any gun, rifle, fowling piece, pistol, or other firearms within the corporate limits of the City is guilty of a misdemeanor; provided, that this section does not apply to police and other peace officers in the lawful discharge of their duty. (Ord. A-16 §1, 1942).
