For the purposes of this Chapter, a “sign” is defined as any medium, including its structure and component parts, which is used or intended to be used to attract attention to the subject matter for advertising purposes, other than paint on the surface of a building. As structures, as defined in Section 202 of the International Building Code, signs are subject to the requirements of the Construction Code.
