The penalty and fees for a person found to have committed an act designated a parking infraction under the provisions of this chapter shall be as reflected in the current schedule adopted by the City Council and approved by order of the Whitman County District Court, except where expressly stated in this chapter. Parking infractions shall be processed by the City’s violations bureau pursuant to Chapter 12.20 PCC; provided, contested parking infractions shall be transferred to Whitman County District Court upon receipt of notice by the City violations bureau that the infraction is being contested. The District Court shall follow the conditions specified by the state supreme court for the exercise of its discretion in assessing fines and penalties for traffic infractions. The penalty for failure to respond to a notice of traffic infraction shall be as imposed by RCW 46.63.110(4). (Ord. 22-17 §3, 2022; Ord. 12-16 §1, 2012; Ord. 99-36 §1, 1999; Ord. 80-64 §1, 1980).
