From and after January 1, 2016, each Councilmember shall be paid at the rate of five hundred fifty dollars per calendar month with the exception of the Councilmembers holding Ward 1, position 7; Ward 2 position 2; and Ward 3, position 5, who shall be paid at the rate of five hundred fifty dollars per calendar month from and after January 1, 2018; provided that should the incumbent of any Council position be replaced for any reason, the new Councilmember shall immediately be paid at the rate of five hundred fifty dollars per calendar month.
