(1) Inspection. Identifiable public records that are not exempt public records or do not contain information subject to redaction and exemption prior to inspection shall be available for inspection during normal city business hours.

(2) Copying. Public records shall remain in the custody of the appropriate custodian at all times. Copies of public records or portions thereof shall be provided upon request, in accordance with Chapter 42.56 RCW and City Code.

(3) Fees.

(a) Fees shall not be charged for the retrieval or inspection of identifiable public records.

(b) Fees shall be charged for the copying or reproduction, in any format, of identifiable public records in accordance with applicable state laws and any fee resolution adopted by the City Council.

(c) At its option, the city may send out public records for copying by private companies. The requestor shall pay the actual cost to the city of copying such public records.

(d) A request for a certified copy of a public record shall trigger an additional fee as set by resolution for the certification. (Ord. 18-26 §4, 2018; Ord. 93-10 §4, 1993).
